Pecha Kucha

You what?

Pecha Kucha!

Still lost?

Well, Pecha Kucha is a style of presentation where there are 20 slides that last 20 seconds each (meaning that the presentation lasts exactly 6mins and 40 secs).  The slides are automatically on a timer and mainly contain an image or a statement. The idea is that this type of presentation will put forward 20 interesting facts or points of opinion and is short enough to keep the audience’s attention. These presentations also keep the speaker focussed and reduces the amount of ‘waffle’!

Below is a Pecha Kucha presentation about Pecha Kucha:

Here is a link to an interesting Pecha Kucha presentation called ‘Art, Sport and Passion, in Derby

I’m hoping to see if some of our Sport Science lecturers can use this method of presentation with their students – not presenting to them, but getting their students to present individual Pecha Kucha presentations!

    Good morning Samantha

I have just watched your 6min40sec presentation on Pecha Kucha.

A very well presented and informative training bite.

I am already thinking of adopting the concept in my presentations.

Thank you for providing me with the idea which I am certain will be a very useful tool for me in the future.

    Best wishes
